Who Can I Talk To For Advice On Which Blue Cross Health Insurance Option To Get In Florida? |
First of all, this insurance is just plain bad. I have the family plan and it eats up my entire raise plus more each year. Each year I go into the hole and still get an 80/20 policy. It's open enrollment soon and I need someone to advise me on which plan, deductible, etc would be the best for my situation. I really am clueless when it comes to health insurance and of course Blue Cross and our administrators are not the ones to ask. We usually have an average of one ER visit per year, we do have a good amount of prescriptions, and regular doctor visits for the 4 of us. We've been forunate with hardly any hosiptalizations in the last few years. Can anyone help me with this or at least steer me
| Answer: There are tons of local insurance agents out there that will be willing to explain your options. If you have to stick to Blue Cross find a Blue Cross specialist agent to explain to you how the policies they are offering is going to fit your needs and if possible cut your cost. If you don't need to get stuck with Blue Cross ask for explanation on other plans and insurer. If you are healthy and only need health insurance for "just in case", try asking the agents about HSA (Health Saving Account) plans. It will be high deductible and allow you to put money aside in a saving account, almost like your 401K, except it's pre-tax $ and no tax ever if you use it for health care |
