Autoplan Insurance Broker In Vancouver Is It Worth Studying?

Hi,
I am planning to experiment with a bit of a digress in my career path. I am a chemical engineer and working since the past 16 months. I do not enjoy my work a whole lot and plus I am always seeking out ways to make more money and achieve finanical security.

I decided to try perhaps studying for an insruance broker and maybe learning autoplan insurance skills and at a later point perhaps owning my own autoplan agency.

Is there much scope for such brokeaages and would such a career diverstion be helpful and productive.

thanks

Answer: Well, limiting yourself to auto would be a drawback. If you want to do insurance, I would NOT limit myself to just auto. I DO think brokerages are a good thing.

HOWEVER. The personality of a chem en, in my opinion, and a successful insurance salesperson, are LIGHT YEARS apart. So I'd have seriousl doubts about how well that career would fit you.

What Are The Benefits Of Becoming An Insurance Agent Working In An Autoplan Selling Basic Car Insurance?

So here's the deal: I'm looking to start a career in the Insurance industry and work as an Autoplan Insurance Agent. I'm very ambitious and I feel like I can get a lot of clients coming to me as I know it's a job in very high demand. Right now I have a job as a Financial Service Advisor and to be honest, sitting in a chair for 9.5hrs a day answering phones calls minute after minute is NOT ME!!! So is working in the Insurance field flexible with hours? When it comes to, say, meeting with clients, how is that arranged? I plan to get lots. Is it possible to set my own hours? And is there a lot of money to be had here? What restrictions do I have with Level 1 opposed to Level 2? Basically, I would

Answer: If you do not like to spend your days sitting in a chair answering calls and servicing clients then you're not going to be much happier as an Autoplan agent. Insurance hours are not really flexible. An agency/brokerage is open from x:xx A.M. to x:xx P.M., and you will be expected to be there to help service clients. Your only other option is to be a mobile Autoplan agent (aka Road Runner). Mobile agents go to dealerships to process auto policies for people purchasing new/used vehicles and have no plates to drive off the lot with. I personally consider Road Runners to be the bottom feeders of the insurance world, as they pretty much only have limited knowledge in Autoplan (they usually only do

Do I Have To Go Through Autoplan For Auto Insurance In The Province Of BC?

Answer: Mandatory coverages ($200,000 liability plus the other coverages as listed in the Insurance Vehicle Act) MUST be purchased through ICBC. Optional coverages, such as higher liability limits, collision, comprehensive, loss of use, etc. can either be purchased from ICBC or through a private insurer.

Just Became Licensed In Insurance And Wonder If I Should Get My CAIB Or CIP. My Plan Is To Manage A Brokerage?

I hope to continue working in my brokerage selling autoplan, house and travel insurance but would eventually like to manage the personal lines team. Which designation would help me with my career goals?

Answer: Legally all you need is your CAIB 3 (after you get CAIB 1 followed by 2) in order to be the principal of a brokerage. However no one is going to put you in charge of a brokerage unless you have your CIP (unless you're planning on opening your own brokerage). So focus on getting your CAIB 2, then get your CIP, then when you feel you're ready to take on management then get your CAIB 3.
