I Had An Interview With Hartford Insurance Co. On Sept 16. I Was Told That I Would Hear Back Regardless If I ?
Question by Becca J | Posted in Insurance
have the job or not. The said they would contact me the next week. So, on Thurs. the 25 I called to see if a decision had been made. HR told me I would be hearing from them shortly.
Their first day of training starts Oct. 20th, I'm thinking that is why they are in no hurry to call me back.
Anyone who has had an interview or works at the Hartford please respond, and thank you in advance!
Wish me luck!
Answer: Don't worry about when training starts. Keep or restart following up on your other job interviews. Follow up on your other apps to get interviews. When you get a job offer from someone else, no matter who, no matter how much, call Hartford and tell HR you need to make up your mind and ask if you have a sure thing there or only a 1 in 5 chance of getting the job. If they don't offer you the job by the noon the next day, go ahead and take the other job.
Employers are like members of the opposite sex. If you're attached or being courted, you look more attractive.
They are making the offers is some random order and are waiting for the "prime" candidates
Is Anyone Familiar With Careers From Hartford Financial?
Question by Falcon | Posted in Marketing & Sales
I received a call from someone with Hartford Financial and they requested an interview. I have a resume posted on Monster and I typically get phone calls from folks claiming to have job openings but are really recruiting for multi-level management type businesses. From what I found on their website they seem to be a high level company but it seems a tad odd that they would recruit someone from the retail industry as a sales professional in finance and insurance. I'm excited for an opportunity but wary when the only info I can find is on their website. Any advice would be appreciated!
He didn't ask if I had any certifications or licenses. All he said was "You work in sales right?
Answer: HF as I remember is a firm that specializes in the sale of stocks and bonds. The job may be for a telemarketer "cold calling" clients in order to sell them stocks and bonds. This is a tough job and pays very little unless you are good at it. Did they ask if you have a Series 7? That would be a good clue. In any event it wouldn't be a bad idea to give them a call to see what the job is. It might be something you are looking for and good luck.

I am an office secretary at an insurance office in downtown Hartford making $39,000 a year. I was offered a job in West Hartford as a Hartford County School supply vendor. The job makes about $7,000 more dollars a year but I would have to go through 6 months of training and it would add some time to my commute. I am in the process of getting my GED to be a news journalist. What do you think? Should I take it?
Answer: How much is the commute going to cost over a period of time. Wear and tear on your vehicle, cost of fuel and additional time commuting should all be figured into your decision. You could end up making less per year because of your expenses (not to mention your time). Is this job going to offer you any other benefits than a higher paycheck? If you are ultimately planning a different career, does it offer you any skills or knowledge which will enhance you in your new career? If not, You may want to stay where you are, get more time on the job (which looks good on a resume verses jumping from job to job), and spend the extra time working on what you really want.
My friends need another roomate and I only have two weeks to decide if I'm definietly going to move up there.
I work at an Insurance Company in Hartford right now and save money by living at home.
Answer: My 18 year old daughter just announced she's moving to wisconsin with friends...no job lined up, will have to sit out this semester of school b/c I'm not paying out of state tuition.
I told her this: I think (in her situation) it's a foolish way to go about doing it, but:
1. She has no loans, credit cards or other financial obligations
2. She has no lease to break
3. She has no one depending on her for care or support.
So, I told her in consideration of all that, if she must do this, now is the time to do these things, not 10 years from now when she has a mortgage and 2 children.

Hartford Is Trashed Again - Hartford Courant
Hartford is once again under attack, and we, the denizens of Connecticut's capital city, are once again in an awkward position of either defending our turf or joining in the criticism. It's true that Hartford has lost people, lots of them, since the city's heyday in 1950. It's also true that Hartford has lost manufacturers, as has every Northern city over the past generation. Hartford trails only No. 1 Buffalo and No. 2 Flint, Mich....

AP HARTFORD—Gov. Dannel P. Malloy's administration said Thursday that it has organized an outreach effort to help more than 12000 long-term jobless workers receive an array of social services after losing extended unemployment insurance benefits.
The mixed picture was reflected in The Courant's conversations with job hunters in Hartford. Their stories show how difficult it can be to pin down the way people are responding to the poor job market, and how much hope there is for improvement.
The Law School's commencement Sunday drew more than 2000 people to its Hartford campus, where 240 students received Juris Doctor degrees or Master of Laws degrees in insurance law or US legal studies. Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy conferred an
