Can you sue the owner for violent acts of a minor who lives on their property as well as the violent act physically occuring on their property? My daughter was jumped from behind and beat violently in the head. The girl recieved a "ticket" yet my daughter had to go to the hospital. Now she is afraid to go to school. The attacker is in her class.
| Answer: You ask the property owner. That information is protected by the privacy laws. You sure can sue the minor and the parent. You'd hire a lawyer to do that. You sue for your damages. Insurance doesn't cover illegal acts, like beating someone up. You're probably better off filing a restraining order against this kid - that will keep her away from your property, likely her property, too, and out of the classroom. |
