How Do I Alert An Insurance Company Of Fraud?

a coworker of mine is committing auto insurance and health insurance fraud and im sick of standing by and knowing about it without saying something. whats the best way to go about alerting the companies?

Answer: If you know who the company is then call or email them. You may want to do it anonymously, by going to a phone booth. Some people may get angry and want to get revenge with the person who turned them in so just be careful however you do it.

Is It Considered Insurance Fraud If My Insurance Company Pays To Replace My Gutters And I Keep The Old Ones?

Lets say there was a huge hail storm and my gutters were ruined and the Insurance agreed to replace them. If I keep the old gutters (after the new gutters are installed) to put on another property I own, is that considered insurance fraud?
So, what about in the case of a car? If your insurance company deems the vehicle "totaled" they take possession of the car correct? You can't keep the car unless you buy it back from the insurance company right?

Answer: Not for the 'recycled" gutters no that is not fraud but for the car Yes. Your insurance company would consider that insurance fraud. I do automotive hail damage repair and it works on the same concepts as roofs and gutters. If you pocket the money they gave you to get a replacement, it is insurance fraud and they can bring charges upon you. Also, in the end most of the time, the insurance company is coming out on top. If they give you a $2000 check for your damages, most likely the damages come out to more than that if you were to get them fixed. That is where a auto repair company would come in and say ok your insurance gave you a $2000 check but your true damages are for $3000. They would

Is It Insurance Fraud To Submit A High Estimate To The Insurance Company But Then Get Repairs Somewhere Else?

A friend's parents had roof damage from a hail storm and got an initial estimate of $32,000 and submitted that to the insurance company. They got the insurance check already, but now they found someone else who will do it for $28,000 instead. Can she go with the cheaper place and pocket the extra?

Answer: Of course they can go with a cheaper vendor and pocket the extra.

What Happens To A Company When They Commit Insurance Fraud?

I know for sure that a local company is commiting insurance fraud.
How do I turn them in and what happens next?

They are providing services to people and telling them that their insurance will cover everything (no money out of the customers pocket.)

This is not legal is it?!

Answer: There are services that can be covered entirely through insurance. That in itself is completely legal. Many Mental Health facilities work this way, as do quite a few independent hospitals, doctor's offices, dentists, and opticians. So long as the service is provided and the paperwork is filed correctly, they operate completely legally with no (or little) out of pocket expense for the client (depending on the insurance type). Worst case scenario is that the customer receives a bill for the amount unpaid by insurance.

The question is what service they are provided and who they send the insurance claim to. If they are over claiming, or fraudulently claiming, there there is an

Why Might Repeatedly Forgiving Compayments Constitute Fraud On The Insurance Company?

A. Because the doctor is in effect misstating the true fee, resulting on overpayment
B. Because patients are legally obligated to pay the copayment
C. Because it shows up as a false tax deduction on the doctor's income tax return or
D. Because it defrauds the patient who has the contract with the insurance company

Answer: A. The patients insurance cover pays the doctor, so if the doctor is falsifying the number of his/her patients for financial gain, then that would equate to an act of fraud on the insurance company.
