Do you HAVE to let them know? No.
Do you want them to PAY for those things if they get stolen? You probably do....in which case you need to let them know.
Why?
A typical auto policy only covers the vehicle and standard equipment (tires/radio/cd player). Some policies will cover CUSTOM EQUIPMENT up to $1000.
If you have more than $1000 of custom equipment (special rims, special speakers, special paint job, specialty electronics like tvs, etc) you are going to need to declare those and their values.
Some insurance companies may not provide custom equipment endorsements for you. Those items will

Answer: No one will know. the question is too general. You will have to fill out an application with an insurance agent to get an accurate quote.
How Much $$$ For A 1975 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible?

I'm looking at buying a 1975 Cadillac Eldorado convertible and I need to know how much I should offer.
It's red and has about 60,000miles.
The reason I need to know is because the convertible top needs to be replaced, and there is a little bit of rust on the rear left fender. Not a big problem for either really, except I would need to fix both to have collectors plates (cheaper insurance).
The guy is asking $2,000, and I'm thinking of offering $1,500 to $1,700.
Any ideas, considerations or anything else I should be concerned about?

I got 4 air bags and 2 door panels dvd player 2 tvs and my sound system stolen from my 2000 bmw then i looked at my 95 cadillac eldorado and the engine parts are missing it runs but gets hot in 5 seconds, i have full coverage insurance on the cars but i was wondering if they are going to total loss any of my cars or they are just going to fix it, i'm afraid f they total it they wont pay what i paid for or anything close to it ! please tell me what I should do I lost 2 cars in 1 day, thank you
Answer: Dude, do you live in Detroit?? Geez that's some tough luck. I would have no choice but file a stolen property claim.
Your insurance company shouldn't have to total loss your vehicles unless the damage exceeds a certain amount, and I haven't a clue what that amount would be. Better luck to you in the future, move outta that neighborhood, maybe pack a gun.

I rear ended a friend of mine after he intentionally slammed the brakes in front of me. I was following at 27mph with 3 seconds however despite having newly maintained brakes on my parents 85 eldorado, the brakes don't even engage until you slam the pedal down 2 inches and then after that you have to drop some lead on them. The brakes on my del sol do not have ABS and are very sensitive, leading to me instinctively being ginger with the brakes at first however I quickly adjusted.
