Can An Employer Offer Health Insurance To Management Employees And Not Offer It To All Employees?

I work for a Mattress company in Florida, and I just found out that the owner is paying for his management staffs insurance, but he doesn't even offer it to his sales people. Is that even legal?
When I started, he said he was going to be getting health insurance for all his employees, he was working on it. That was over a year ago and now I am finding out that he is offering insurance to his management staff and sales people of his same nationality. Two of the employees he is paying insurance for are no higher up the ladder than me.

Answer: Yes, it is his business, and he can provide benefits to managers if he likes. Most companies do something similar. You are never entitled to "benefits," they are decided on and offered at the employer's discretion.

Can A Company Legally Offer Better Health Insurance To Upper Management And Lesser Health Insurance To Hourly?

My company recently changed their health insurance, Only one plan is offered. Our deductibles became higher and our contribution almost doubled. Intrestingly enough, I just found out that all upper managers got to retain their old plan with very small deductibles and retained the old contribution which is less then half of the other plan.

The old Plan is not offered to lower management or hourly workers. I want to know if this is legal, I am located in Florida

Answer: A company can maintain a separate "executive" plan that is not the same for all employees. Usually it is referred to as an executive plan and is considered part of their benefit package.

What Health And Dental Insurance Companies Does Waste Management Use?

Just got hired on as a residential driver with Waste Management and start soon. What I need to know is: what insurance companies does Waste Management use for their health and dental plans? Are they very good plans, or not? I haven't gotten a straight answer anywhere else on the net, so this seems to be a forum of knowledgable individuals.

Answer: It undoubtedly varies by state. Waste Management operates nationally. If you're going to be a union driver, those benefits may be provided through the union rather than directly by the company.

Can Someone In Health Information Management Easily Into The Field Of Insurance?

I am a medical records release of information specialist and was wondering if the skills I have gained would allow me to work in the insurance industry? Thanks in advance!

Answer: You don't specify what kind of facility you are working in or which part of the insurance industry you were considering entering. I am thinking most likely you currently work in a hospital or large clinic and are considering going into medical insurance billing and/or coding.

I teach medical billing and coding and believe your background could be a good start for you to pursue a billing career. A few things to know. Right now at least in California there are a lot of people getting paid to go to school and study billing and coding. The fact that you are already in the field is very important because it shows that this is your career; you are not merely looking for "a
