Can I Purchase BCBS Group Health Insurance In The State Of TEXAS?

(The state of Texas part is key). My husband is self employed, the owner of a small consulting business. We will be moving to Texas very soon. Where we live currently, we have BCBS group health insurance. We would like to have BCBS Group health insurance in Texas, too, but I am not finding it. We do not want small business owner health insurance because we get a better rate with group insurance.

Does anyone have data, did Tort reform lower health insurance costs? I mean isn't texas having a surplus or perhaps a surge of doctors since passing such law? Let's prove to the liberals this works by using the facts for a change.
If it's not cheaper than other states, it should have at least went down, right?
Who cares what liberals think? Conservatives do care about facts, so can you at least answer the question?

I had cancer about a year ago and I am trying to start a private business. Could I be denied an insurance policy because of my preexisting condition?
For a group insurance, could it include my spouse?

Answer: Most definitely. My mom had breast cancer and she was told that she would be un-insurable for at least ten years. You will definitely be denied if you apply for an individual policy. If you are not denied, an exclusion rider will be attached to the cancer you had and no treatment related to that condition will be covered. You probably will be approved under a group policy but you will be subject to a period of at least six months that anything related to that cancer will not be covered. Group would probably be the best way to go. If group is not an option, you can apply to the Texas High Risk Pool. I've only helped one client apply here and she was approved. How Do I Find A Good Health Insurance Agent In Texas?

Back in California where I am from I had a great Health insurance agent. He took care of everything. My health insuranc, home insurance, life insurance and auto Insurance. I get to Houston Texas and find out that most agents either deal with home and auto or life and health insurance. I now have a freat home and auto insurance agent but he does not deal with health insurance. His reason. He does not have time to keep updated with current trends in health insurance so he does not believe he would be a good health agent. I appreciate his honest but it kinda leaves me hanging.
