Motor Insurance From Group 5 To Group 12?

I'm currently paying £30 per month for my group 5 car insurance but I've been offered a car that's group 12. I can't get a quote until I know all the details of the car, but don't want to look too interested until I know about the insurance. anyone give me an idea please?

Answer: Depends on the car, your age, how long you have been driving, any previous driving convictions, your job and where you live etc - impossible to quote for unless these are known. 'Phone round some companies or get on-line quotes.
 
 

Motor Traders Insurance For Under 25?

I have been trading since I was 19 with my dad and I have been able to drive anything up to 1.8 on an arista policy and on another policy with aviva any car up to group 16 insurance. I was wondering if there are any companies out there that would provide full COVERAGE meaning ANY CAR ANY INSURANCE GROUP IMPORT or NON IMPORT. As we are starting to deal in imports and higher group insurance cars.

Im 21 now and my dad has 4 years MTB. At the moment with aviva I am allowed ot drive anything upto group 16 for social domestic and business and thats costing me £2200 FULLY COMP.

Answer: No.

MOTOR INSURANCE: AN ALTERNATIVE, CO-OP?

As we're all taken by the insurance companies, could a group of say,, 100 form their own co-op to cover each other?

Answer: You can self-insure by depositing £500,000 as per the Road Traffic Act 1991 (it used to be only £15,000 under the 1988 Act):

"144 Exceptions from requirement of third-party insurance or security

(1) Section 143 of this Act does not apply to a vehicle owned by a person who has deposited and keeps deposited with the Accountant General of the Supreme Court the sum of £500,000, at a time when the vehicle is being driven under the owner’s control."

Anyone Recently Received A Shock With There Insurance Renewal?

I have just had my motor insurance renewal in for march to which has gone up by £17 per month no because of a claim but because a new grouping system. The old system was based on grouping of 1-20 now cars are based on grouping from 1-50 so my car has gone from a group 8 to 17 on the new system.

Answer: My insurance premium went through the roof at renewal. I called the insurance company and got a good reduction after a few minutes on the phone. Give it a try, call them and negotiate.
