Is Wawanesa Insurance Company (car) Reliable?

Answer: My current wife (then fiance) had Wawanesa Insurance in San Diego, never had a problem with them. They paid for her car repairs when a city truck backed into her. The city was slow in cutting a check and she needed her car for work. It was fixed in 5 days and they provided her with a rental car to use. I'm sure the city paid them back, but it is nice to know they stood behind her so she could work while the dust settled.

I also used them for my insurance, never had to file a claim, but their customer service was always helpful. They did require their own inspection on a car that is not directly from the dealers lot.

Anyone Insured With Wawanesa Insurance And Can Someone Give Me Some Details On How The Company Is With Claims?

Is anyone insured with Wawanesa Insurance and can someone give me some details on how the company is with claims

Answer: I cannot answer for auto, but I can answer for home insurance. I have had WaWa for home insurance for 30 years, and, as an insurance broker, have represented WaWa (and 9 other companies at the same time) for home and commercial insurance. It is a good company. I would assume the auto claims are as good as the home claims service.

I got into a car accident yesterday and it was the other persons fault. She clearly admitted that its her fault to me as well as my parents. I have full coverage with Wawanesa Insurance and was wondering how many days I have to report the accident to them?

What Are The Best Car Insurance Company's?

In California it is Wawanesa low insurance rates for good drives only

Answer: I live in California, and I currently have Wawanesa. They were the cheapest company I found. I shopped around everywhere, and Wawanesa beat the second lowest company by $800 annually. I remember on the California Dept of Insurance website they had a rough comparision of prices for most of the companies, and Wawanesa was usually Top 3. One of the reasons they're usually lower than most companies is the lack of advertising they do. They don't want to attract that attention, for that will bring more customers, which in turn, brings in more losses. They're fine with the "word-of-mouth" business they have. One way you'll know your insurance company is good is how they deal with accidents.

Is It Required To Present Estimates Before Insurance Company Pays Up?

I had an accident last JUly and I received notification from Wawanesa that it was not my fault and the company will pay for my car repairs. I took a day off to obtain repair estimate from Wawanesa's preferred repair shop and it was approved. I presented the estimate to my regular repair shop which accommodates me on saturdays so I don't have to take a day off from work and it did the work for me. The shop asked for deposit and I paid in full to have the car retrieved after work since it will take a longer time to have the check cut by Wawanesa. My agent told me that I will be reimbursed so long as the shop sends them a receipt which the shop did. However, Wawanesa now says that it will pay

Answer: Whether it's a law or not, it's their policy.

Don't follow their policy, don't get coverage/reimbursed, it's that simple.

If Wawanesa had totaled the vehicle, it would have had to pay by law the cash value of the vehicle along with the appropriate sales tax, or $40,000, but it could have recovered the salvage value, or $7,500, along with the deductible of $500, so...
