If I Get Employer-provided Health Insurance, Will I Still Have Any Freedom To Choose What Kind I Want?

Say that I get a job, and one of my benefits as an employee is health insurance. Does this mean that I either have to
(1) accept the employer's health insurance unconditionally
or
(2) refuse and find an insurance company to get health insurance from

OR, are people able to negotiate what kind of insurance they want with their employers? Or do some companies allow negotiation and others don't?

I don't get it. Does accepting employer-provided health insurance mean you lose freedom to choose or something?

Thanks.

Answer: Employers will get rid of the expense and let the government take it from you in increased taxes and decreased levels of service.

It makes no business sense to pay for private insurance and for public insurance at the same time. Since government insurance is going to be mandatory, then business will simply stop paying for the private stuff. Ultimately, it is money that your employer will not be able to give to you to do as you choose.

The healthy will pay for the sickly.

What's More Pro-freedom Than Mandatory Health Insurance?

Well, besides tort reform anyway.

You will be free to choose any health insurance company (But you have to pick one), the health insurance companies will be happy with all those extra profits, and eventually the profits will trickle down to us.

I think we finally found the solution for health care reform, agree?

Answer: There will be less freedom when government is in control.

Should We Have More Freedom Or Less Freedom In The Purchase Of Health Insurance?

More freedom: The right to decide whether to buy health insurance or to self-insure; greater choices among policies offered by private insurers; the right to carry a policy across state lines; the right to choose for ourselves what will and won't be insured.

Less freedom: A government requirement to purchase health insurance with fines or jail for those who do not buy policies; a single government-mandated policy rather than choices among policies; mandated coverage of abortion; government panels to decide whether we will be treated or denied treatment.
Patriot, the Rasmussen poll shows 56% of Americans oppose the Democrats health care plan.

Answer: More freedom, essentially by opening up the current market to more competition across state lines will essentially flush out those companies that are charging too much. As we have already seen the government can not find their way out of a paper bag with the lights on, why in the world would we want them to destroy our great health care system too. It would be just like the post office and Amtrak over budget and mismanaged with poor results in the end. Rationed health care would be an awful thing.

Why Are C0nservatards Against Americans Having The Freedom To Purchase Government-run Health Insurance?

I don't WANT your sh1tty private insurance; I'll take government-run insurance ANY DAY over you losers with your increasing premium rates and denial of coverage for pre-existing conditions. Why are c0nservatards against that?

Answer: There were two main reasons. They will sound dumb to you (and they do to me too) but to a conservative they sound very reasonable.

The first has to do with Obama. Whenever a Democrat gets into the White House, Republicans react by reflexively opposing anything he says or does or wants. So it wouldn't matter what Obama was trying to do, Republicans would 'manufacture outrage'. In this case they said he was 'trying to take over the entire health care industry', which is patently false but they figure if they repeat it enough times people will buy it.

The second is that in the conservative mindset the purpose for -anything- is profits and return on investment. For

How Is Buying Obamacare Insurance Compareable To Freedom In Health Care?

Legislation requiring you to buy something is not freedom. It's coercion over personal choice.

Do liberals even understand what the hell freedom actually means? Like literally, the meaning of the word?
exemption from external control, interference, or regulation - freedom
First off auto insurance is on the state level. And it's also necessary because auto insurance serves the purpose that insurance is supposed to serve. Insurance is supposed to asses risk. Not pay for maintenence (cars) or regular visits (health care). Also health insurance gives government control over personal aspects of your life that they can deem "unhealthy" and penalize you for.
