Hi Everyone- This is my first time on Yahoo Answers! I'm looking for a place where I can get an online free health insurance quote. I'm always skeptical everything out there is a scam. Thanks for your help!

How can a company get my cell phone number from my computer? I was on ehealthinsurance dot com and it only asked for my date of birth, if I was a student, and my zip code. All information that I assumed was not a big deal to give. Well, at 10:10 tonight I received a phone call from a "health insurance agency" claiming that I had just requested a free quote, they had my phone number and asked for me BY NAME! Is this legal? And how did this happen??

but since you state you did not call them, most likely they found you by a search engine of your phone number. they could have called 10 other people 1st before getting you.

do a search online and see if you can find your number. there are services that now list cell numbers since so many people use them more or no longer have a land line.

we are not listed in the phone book, but i have done searches online and found it listed which makes me mad. it could be you have done business with other companies that may sell your personal info and they can find.
