| Answer: Just like any insurance that you buy, you have to pay a monthly premium. (If you can find someone that's going to give you insurance for free then lucky you!) For dogs it will usually cost around $20-$50 per month depending on which company you go with and how much you want your plan to cover. If you want it to cover routine things like dental and shots then it is going to make your monthly premium go up a lot. I have found that it is not really worth it to include routine care in the insurance plan but rather pay for it yourself. Personally, I recommend Trupanion because it only costs about $25 a month and it has no annual limits so if your pet has a lot of accidents |

| Answer: ok i used to have pet insurance on my lab... heres the deal pet insurance is a scam, if you factor in shots and your routine checkups on him, with time you end up paying far more for coverage than you would have just paying out of pocket, there was an article i read in the readers digest a few months back taling about insurance scams and pet insurance i believe was number 2 on the list, might wana look that up |

Who Gives Great Health Insurance For Dogs For A Low Price? |
I have a pomeranian puppy ans it's sick.It just needs a few shot's.But taking it to the vet it really expensive.It's about $7,000 for insurance and we can barely afford something for $2,000 and I REFUSE to sale my puppy ! What should I do?
| Answer: I'm not sure about insurance but I know at PetSmart they have a vet clinic (most of them do) called Banfield and there they have plans for dogs. For example, for my new puppy it was $80 down and then $20 a month for his vet visits, vaccines and neuter and a couple of other things. It was a great choice that my boyfriend and I made to buy this plan. Otherwise, we would have bills piled up! |

I have a chihuahua and it protects in case of an accident, illness, routine preventative care, like dental cleanings and vaccinations and most plans cover spaying and neutering. Although I don't take my chihuhua to the vet often should I get this insurance? what do you think?
| Answer: i wish i would have had pet insurance, i just paid 2,500.00 dollars for my dog to have surgery and be in the hospital for the weekend and he still passed away...before we even brought him home....but i would read the fine print because that sounds very cheap compared to the ones i checked into...if it is legit, then i suggest yes! |
