I am only working part-time and have no money. I also have no insurance. You may have noticed my last post about testicular cancer. I am obviously in need of immediate medical attention. How do I get cheap, affordable, or free insurance so I can cover the probable costs coming up?

Answer: The time to get health insurance is before you need it. Unfortunately, you will not be able to get an individual policy at any price if you have cancer.

You have two options. The first would be to get a full time job with benefits although you'll have a waiting period before the cancer would be covered. The second would be Medicaid. For Medicaid you need to qualify by having low income and few assets. Contact your state Medicaid department for more information and to see if you qualify.

Answer: You normally need to be at least 62 to get Social Security. You normally need to be 65 to get Medicare (as mentioned, only Part A is free and only if you've worked 40 quarters). If you are disabled you can qualify for SS or Medicare at a younger age.

You can get welfare at any age depending on state and your particular situation. This is the only true "free" insurance.

Where Can I Find Free Or Low0cost Insurance For Actors?

I've been told that I can get free insurance for actors or something low-cost. I'm barely making ends meet and I'm not sure where to go and I need health insurance right away very badly. I've been told the only way that's going to happen is if I'm a minority (which I'm not), so is this true or am I chasing my tail around?

My Wife And I Are Expecting A Baby And Each Get Free Insurance From Work. Whose Plan Does Baby Go On?

We're both teachers, and up to this point we've each gotten insurance totally free. She's with Blue Cross Blue Shield, and I'm with First Choice Methodist. What's the least expensive option for us? It seems like a poor use of money to pay for a family plan. Do we add her to one or the other and let the other spouse keep their individual insurance? Do we get her a separate individual plan from somewhere?

Answer: Keep each one your insurance and chose the baby's insurance based on the coverage for dependents. Make sure that where the baby is delivered, they take mom and baby's insurance.
