Why Is N10 Classed As A Subsidence Postcode By Insurance Companies? When And Where Was The Last Case Registere

I have asked for buildings insurance quotes for a property with an N10 postocode. I have received quotations they vary from £ 46 to £200 per month. I am concerned that should there ever be a claim for subsidence the company quoting me £46 will pay.

Answer: Subsidence isn't covered under the standard policy AT ALL. When getting your quotes, specifically ask the agents, "is subsidence covered?" and get them to put it in writing, in the quote. That's how you'll know for sure if it will be covered or not, in advance.

Does it make a difference to the insurance premiums if you live in a rich or poor area?

Answer: It is more than a difference between a "poor" or "wealthy" neigborhood. It also has to do with loss frequency ( # of accidents and/or claims).
If you live in a densly populated area, there is a greater chance that you will be involved in an accident than if you reside in a rural area (even if it isn't your fault). Insurance companies are in the business of assessing risk. We are all a potential risk (some more than others). Where you live is a factor that is used in the equation...and the result is the premium that you will be charged.
Many folks have figured this out and claim that the live in another area (zip code) so that they can get a cheaper rate.

Where Can I Find An Insurance Quote, When I Don't Have A Postcode Yet.?

I Am moving into a new build next monthand am trying to get a insurance quote, but Postcodes haven't been released yet, Where can I get a quote online, because every site I have tried won't continue until I have a postcode

Answer: use the post code of your neighbour
get the quote and then save it
call them up and then tell them what u did
they still have to honour the on line quote with the discount if any
and give u a temporary post code for their records
i know because i used to work for motor insurance

19yrs old, licence since May '05, planning to buy a Fiat Seicento Sporting (grp. 3), Bradford postcode.

I know insurance below the tonne is hard to come by in my circumstances, but any help/suggestions would be be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Answer: the following list are insurers that provide discounts for the pass plus course run by the DSA the list was accurate when provided to me. also you may need to confirm whether they provide discount in your area

I would like to be able to obtain a full UK address by entering a postcode, like the utillity and insurance companies and shops are able to do.

Answer: Many places can have the same postcode- for example, in the drive I live in, all 14 houses have the exact same postcode.

If you don't know the house number, it won't do you much good.

You can find out postcodes on the royal mail website http://postcode.royalmail.com but it will only give you a general answer

Insurance companies access your credit rating, and the electronic version of your information stored on file. Due to the data protection act, civilians cannot access that level of information.
