Does Anyone Have The Mid-West Live Insurance Company Of Tennessee?

An insurance agent sold this to my parents and I wish they put everything into layman's term.
They bought this through a group called the Alliance for Affordable Services.
They have a $5000 deductible but the policy reads like this:
Hospital room/board has CoInsurance of 100% with Maximum up to $1000 per day.
What is Coinsurance? Do they still have to pay something after their $5000 deductible?

Answer: YES. If the hospital is $5,000/day they'll have to pay $4,000 per day since their policy only covers $1,000.
Tell them to find another policy. They are owned by Health Markets which used to be UICI which also owns Mega Life and NASE. The policies between Mega and Mid-West are practically identical. And if you do a search for "Nase Complaints" you'll find plenty of reasons to get rid of the policy.

I got in a car accident with my girl friend in her car. We were at fault, but the other driver did not have license. Me and my girl friend were taken to the hospital, me with a cut on my head requiring 10 staples. The other driver did not file an insurance claim. My girl friends mother is not filing any type of insurance claim. I HAVE NO HEALTH INSURANCE AT ALL.
What will happen with my medical bills?
What should I do about it?
Im being told that commerce west insurance company will NOT cover me?

Answer: That other driver not having a license, doesn't matter.
How the medical bills are filed, depends WILDLY on what state you are in.
For example, in PA, regardless of who's car you are in, you collect under your OWN policy's benefits. If you have no policy, you collect under your mother and father's policies. If neither of them have policies, you collect under any OTHER policy owned by any OTHER resident of your household.
Regardless of which state you are in, if your girlfriend was driving, you can ALWAYS sue her, for your bodily injuries, and THEN they'll end up paying them - plus pain & suffering.

Answer: Due to the property insurance market in Florida, there have been a flurry of brand new companies starting up. American Traditions is one of them. They are brand new, which is why you're not hearing anything about them.
They are NOT rated by AM Best (NR-5), and their reinsurance is Lloyds of London.
If you have ANY other choice, I would go with the other choice - even if it costs more. It does NO GOOD at all to buy homeowners insurance, if the big hurricane comes through, and they don't have enough money to pay your claims.
I would go with Citizens, before an unrated carrier.
