When You Adopt A Kitten From The RSPCA Does It Come With Any Paper Work?
Question by Kate | Posted in Cats
Im a bit of a freak and I like to organise everything! My dog I have now has a folder with the dates of her injections, mircochipping, insurance, the dates when she gets wormed, feaed etc.
Im planning on adopted a kitten that comes vaccinated, fleaed, wormed and micro chipped. Do they give you all the necessary paper work?
Please don't call me ridiculous I already know I am and I can't help it.
Answer: It's decades since I got some from RSPCA (our current moggies-in-residence all practically rang the doorbell) - think you sign an agreement to look after them - presume they are treated for fleas etc and spayed - that's why you pay for them. I'd say if they've had all the vet care needed there would be records you could ask for anyway - wish I could get organised - enjoy your pets!!
What Would The RSPCA Do If A Dog Was Set Of Someone?
Question by E-man | Posted in Dogs
My former friend just did one of the most stupid things I can think of. He told my 66 pound dog to 'kill' my neighbour who isn't fond of my family and would do anything to get us evicted/out of the picture. Former friend comes over and neighbour is in the garden...He starts bad mouthing former friend while I'm on the front garden with my three dogs. Former friend ignores neighbour for a few minutes, and then starts talking about telling my large Australian Shepherd (male) to kill, although former friend doesn't actually command him to yet. Aussie is very friendly, but also very loyal and would do anything he was told so long as he knew what the command was. I use kill as a 'go play' command for
Answer: You do realize that using "kill" instead of "go play" was kinda asking for trouble, right?
You need to go talk to your neighbor. Make sure there were no injuries, apologize on behalf of your stupid friend, and explain the kill/go play thing. Doing so might prevent the neighbor from getting the RSPCA involved.
Can The RSPCA Pay For Treatment If You Are On A Low Income ?
Question by zx6_rich | Posted in Dogs
yesterday we bought a rescue dog from a dogs home he had been abandoned and was a little rough around the edges any way he's a lovely dog really kind and gentle he's a collie X with i dont know what anways me and all the kids were coming back from walking him and we live on a main road i had made sure he was in the front room so that i could go back and deal with the twins outside in the pushchair and before i could get to them he ran out jumped over the push chair straight into the road and got hit by a speeding car my heart broke when i saw him and the guy just kept shouting about how i was going to pay for his car etc i hadn't had time to arrange insurance as he wasn't supposed to be coming
Answer: the rspca do treat animals of people on low incomes income support and working tax credits and job seekers allowance.
a consultation for a dog is 8 pounds and treatment ranges any where from 12 pounds for a vaccination up to 75 for a spay or neuter based on the weight of the dog.
the pdsa take on animals of people who are on housing and council tax benefit only, they do charge a fee and ask for a donation but you have to be on benefits to be considered for either of them
I Thought Insurance Was Supposed To Take The Worry Away?
Question by princessK | Posted in Insurance
As a responsible pet owner I have pet insurance for both of my cats. My male cat has been suffering from a number of different problems which should all be covered by this insurance. However the vets require being paid upfront but the insurance company havnt even begun to look at the claim yet even though we sent it in before christmas.
We have covered the vets bill out of our income so far but we have got to the point where we cannot do this anymore.
We are not on benefits so we cannot get help from the RSPCA etc...
Has anyone else been in this situation?
We are now faced with not being able to contiune with his treatment.... we could loose our pet even though we
Answer: i know this is difficult and you are frustrated and angry. But I can guarantee you level heads will prevail here. Most pet insurance is on a reimbursement basis..... so you do have to lay it out..... BUT the only course of action you have is to call the company and get a claim rep on the phone.... and MAKE A FRIEND!!!! swallow your pride and kiss butt! The only way you can save your pet is by swallowing your pride( I hate this myself but sometimes it MUST be done) Plea your case and most importantly be nice and you should be able to get your claim expedited. That way by the time your money from the Decembers claim arrives you will be ready for the next procedure. One last option is to ask the
Will Rspca Or Cats Protection Let Me Keep A Kitten I Found?
Question by tt | Posted in Cats
I found a kitten,i think around 8 weeks old,mum was dead by the road so I brought her home.
I have 2 other cats and I would love to keep this one, but this would mean having to neuter her and microchip her ,would they help me do this at lower price? My cats were done for £30 each ,they are now asking £60 plus £20for microshiping, plus £55 for 1st immunisations,Now i do not have a problem with giving her boosters and pay for health insurance but does anyone know if they would help me pay for initial care?
Answer: Cats Protection and RSPA both offer vouchers towards the cost of neutering. Many independent cat rescue organisations can also help with free or low cost neutering so don't be afraid to contact them for advice too. (My local shelter has set up a clinic to encourage people to neuter their cats for free). The link below has contact details for low cost neutering schemes in the UK.

If you live near either Canning Town or Lewisham, the Celia Hammond Animal Trust offer low cost neutering.

She has been good with all the children she has met, but would prefer a home with quieter older children only so she can take life easy. She does not get on with other dogs, so would need to be the only pet, but in the right home she has so much love to give. Jess has a very sweet nature and loves people. Jess is a lovely older SBT girl, who has spent a lot of time in kennels and is desperately looking for a comfy place to call home....
