Possible To Apply For National Insurance Number (UK) AFTER Job Is Over?

Scenario: I worked part-time late last year, but didn't have time to apply for a National Insurance Number until now (when the part-time work ended). Is it still possible to apply, if I show my payslips and such? Or would they not issue me a number if I am not employed at THIS moment?

Answer: You can apply at any time.
If you have payslips, did you suffer PAYE or NI deductions?
If so, what happened to these? You employer can't remit them to HMRC without a NINO for you, so has he retained them?
When you get a NINO contact HMRC and check the position on your tax.

I applied work in Ireland. It is still on the process. My agent ask me to secure National Insurance Number because they said it is as necessary as applying for a work visa. I live in Philippines, I don't know how to get it and to what government body I should call to.

Answer: Have you applied for work in Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland? Quick geography lesson, Ireland is the name of the island but it is technically two countries - the Republic of Ireland which is an independent state & Northern Ireland which is part of the UK.

Northern Ireland as part of the UK has National Insurance Numbers (NIN).

The Republic of Ireland has Personal Public Service Numbers (PPS).

If your agent was any good at what he does then he would know you can't apply for NIN or PPS unless you're RESIDENT in either the UK or Republic of Ireland and have a job. If you ring the Irish and/or British Embassies they will confirm

Answer: A National Insurance (NI) number is a personal number used:

to record a person's NI contributions and credited contributions
because it is needed when claiming social security benefits.
A NI number should only be given to one person and must only be used by that person.

You should apply for a NI number if:

you will be making a claim for benefit, or
your partner is claiming benefit for you.
This should be done through your local Jobcentre Plus office. You can find your local office on the Jobcentre Plus website.

You should also apply for a NI number if:

you have started or are about to start

a friend of mine just came in from portugal he is not working at the moment what are the requirements to get national insurance number in the uk

Answer: To qualify for a National Insurance number, your friend will have to be able to show he has the right to live and work in the UK and is actively seeking a job.
He needs to call Jobcentre Plus on 0845 600 0643 and make an appointment for an interview at the local Jobcentre, they will then establish his ID and rights, and arrange an NI number for him if he is eligible.

I've applied for NI number last August and went through the interview in job center but I didn't receive the NI card nor any letter from them since that date, how can I know my NI number or in another words, can I know if my application have been accepted or refused?
is there any website to check the status of NI application?

Answer: I suggest you go back to the job center and explain to someone there what happened, and let then sort it out.
