Oklahoma DMV Says To Amend My Birth Certificate For A Oklahoma Driver's License! $600-1000.?
Question by proequine | Posted in Law & Ethics
I've just spent 2 days at the Oklahoma department of Public Safety. I understand and have supported the reasons for increasing public safety, but this is NUTS! I have a NM drivers licence with my name of Elizabeth L. ***, Ok Insurance, Ok. bank accounts, Ok. car registration, OK deed of properties, Oklahoma taxes, social security card, marriage licence, child's birth certificate, all in the name of "Elizabeth" L. ***. But my birth certificate has "Betty" L. ***. Oklahoma will NOT grant me a Oklahoma driver's licence without amending my first name on my "birth certificate?" For over 50+ years I have been Elizabeth.(Elizabeth has multiple nick names such as
Answer: Sounds like your birth certificate was issued with your first name wrong. You never realized it until now. See if they will issue you a new one with the corrected first name. As all your official documents say Elizabeth they may correct it without a hassle.
Yep, that is what happened. The original birth certificate has an error, right? :)
Do You Think There Will Be A Lot Of "unintended Consequences" As The Result Of Obama's Health Care Bill?
Question by _______ | Posted in Politics
Seems like this kind of stuff is going to start happening more and more regularly. I'm starting to think this bill was poorly planned and is not going to be beneficial to anyone in the long run. What do you think??
WASHINGTON – Some major health insurance companies have stopped issuing certain types of policies for children, an unintended consequence of President Barack Obama's health care overhaul law, state officials said Friday.
Florida Insurance Commissioner Kevin McCarty said in his state UnitedHealthcare and Blue Cross Blue Shield have stopped issuing
Answer: With a law (it's no longer just a bill) as needlessly complicated as this one, and in a market as complex as the US health care market, there are bound to be some unintended -- though not entirely unpredictable -- consequences. Some of those consequences have already been seen in Massachusetts, which passed a very similar health care overhaul a few years ago. Like the one described in this article, they will have to be dealt with as they arise.

Will the insurance of a driver pay off for a non family member's vehicle that was totaled if he has total coverage for his vehicles? The vehicle that was crashes has a lien against it & only has liability insurance. However, the driver that wrecked has total coverage for both of his vehicles. He has USAA insurance which looks like good insurance?
There is GAP insurance on the wrecked vehicle.
My question, how do I get the ball rolling on this? I live in Oklahoma, the truck is sitting at a savage yard in Killeen, TX , the primary driver (a soldier) is in a military camp in Virginia, the soldier that wrecked the vehicle is living in Killeen, TX. I signed for the loan, my name

Question by ZACK NEEDS HELP, OR HERE TO HELP | Posted in Law & Legal
Okay, first I wish to thank all that reads and responds to this, will vote best and 5-stars as always. Here is the problem. I have been in some type of Corrections for the past 4 1/2 years or so and have always, always excelled in my job. I worked at a Prison in Watonga Oklahoma for about 2- years, worked at a Justice Center for two years ( both of these places I worked at were a bit of a drive. The prison about 45-mins, both ways, the Justice Center in El' Reno Oklahoma 35-mins. both ways. During this time I was finishing college, and was lucky to get hired on at the Sheriffs Department in my home town (5-min) from my house, but the pay isn't that good. I got hired as a Jailer/ Dispatcher and
Answer: You mentioned city P.D. Is that an option? I began in county jail and went to a city department. The game of so and so is next in line is just that - a game when it is within the same department and does not pay the bills. Probation is possible, but the ones here want a 4 year, same with parole but they will accept experience in lieu of the education because they are state. Maybe you could check those out? Good luck!
Motorcycle Parking In Bricktown - Oklahoma City, OK?
Question by Bill French | Posted in Law Enforcement & Police
Wow, didn't realize OKC needed to set parking traps to make MORE money from their tourists (who won't be back). Tried and tried to find out laws regarding such, but no calls returned. No line markings to indicate space or direction (parallel?) allowed in front of meter - meter not marked motorcycle parking only. Extremely tall signs spaced widely apart stating "MOTORCYCLE PARKING TOW AWAY ZONE" because I assume writing a ticket is less profitable than towing or there must be an urgent need for motorcycle parking vs handicap parking since cars need towed from a motorcycle space. So how much of the money goes to the city vs the towing company for these nightly tows? Also, took cab

Although the new health-care law is largely an insurance-reform package, there will be some changes to Medicare over the next few years, Insurance Commissioner Kim Holland told older Oklahomans on Friday in Tulsa during her third Senior Summit Tour. People now enrolled in Part D pay about 25 percent of their prescription drug costs until the total bill reaches $2,830. Perhaps the most important change will be to Medicare Part D, the prescription drug benefit that allows older adults to receive medications at lower cost, Holland said....

With the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation expected to issue regulations on fracking by year's end, anticipation on both sides of the issue grows daily regarding the potential risks, opportunities, and liability implications.
The bill would require applications for out-of-state insurance policies to indicate that the policies do not have to follow all the standards of in-state policies. An official with the Oklahoma Department of Insurance declined to comment on the
