What Insurance Covers Holiday Sickness Cancellation?

I want to take out an insurance policy that will cover me if I get ill before I leave and can therefore cannot go on holiday. Im looking for a policy that will reimburse almost all the money I have paid for the hotel/flights if possible. Do these exist and if so who sells them? (uk)

Answer: Most insurance policies will cover this but they will probably require a medical note from your doctor stating that you are unfit to travel.

Holiday Insurance, Cancellation Policy?

hi guys i booked a holiday with my then boyfriend, but we split up the night before and i cancelled it, the hotel people said i cant get it back as its not refundable, but they said they will send me a cancellation voucher and i could claim back off insurance, what excuses would i tell the holiday insurance people thats gonna get my money back, i cant say i split up with my BF, im pretty sure thats not covered lol, any help would be gret, its really getting me down :(

Answer: Since they deal with these on a daily basis, I suspect they knows to find out if you were lying.

Answer: Simple rule of thumb a Debit card NO A credit card YES If the airline go`s bust. you do need a good reason to make a cancellation if you want your money back

Is British Airways Travel Insurance Cancellation Include The Natural Catastrophe?

i am actually in london for holiday with a ticket and insurance to go to france tomorrow but with this volcano ashes it has been cancelled, in their website i never found a detailed travel insurance policies just roughly that it cover cancellation but never precise this problem, so what can i do?

Answer: Like everyone has said it is an Act of God or natural occurrence. However I think the airlines will do whatever they can to accommodate you on another flight. It is to their advantage for future revenue to keep people happy. About refunding your money I think you might be out of luck there. You aren't alone a lot of people are in your shoes.

Holiday Insurance To Cover Holiday Cancellations From Volcanic Eruptions?

Whilst airlines may (or may not!) refund flight costs if cancelled due to the volcanic ash problems, is there any "top up" insurance policy to cover costs for my accommodation and car hire that I paid separately if we can't actually get to Spain? The web sites tell us about what happens to people stranded on holiday but what about those who cannot get there? Our holiday insurance company tells us that it is for the airlines to pay but the airline is vague about this. Can anyone advise?
I know that current policies probably won't cover this but are there any new indemnities out?

Answer: Volcanic eruptions are classed as act of god and no insurance will cover them . the airline covers it as it failed to get you to your destination but that is really a good will gesture on their part
