For VSP Eye Insurance, Can I Schedule My Annual Visit A Little Less Than A Year After The Last One?

I had my last visit end of Sep last year, but I will be going out of town in on the 9th of Sep this year for a while. Can I schedule an eye appt for the end of the August and still have my benefits covered even though it is a little less than a year?

Answer: I work for VSP and we always round up to the first day of the month. So, if you were seen on 09/09/06 then you will be availabe again on 09/01/07. Just make sure you are seen on or after 09/01/07.

Can I Use My VSP Eye Insurance Twice In A Year If My Coverage Comes From Two Different People?

I had an exam and got new frames last January, but that's when I was covered by my dad. I'm now covered under my employer with my own plan, so do I qualify for another exam and set of frames before the end of 2008?

Answer: You should always call your insurer to confirm, but you should be able to do so.

I'm assuming that you've been dropped from your dad's plan and started your own coverage through your own employer, correct? And that both employers (your dad's and your own) happen to use VSP as a vision insurance provider?

As long as you weren't dual covered at the same time trying to get benefits from each policy, you should be okay.

The benefit for frames/lenses under your dad's policy is a completely separate benefit from the benefit for frames/lenses under your own employer's policy.

Again, if you want peace of mind before having the services done,

My family has VSP Eye insurance and i went in for an exam and they said i needed glasses so VSP paid up to $150. But now i want contact lenses so im wondering if i can use my moms Vsp Insurance plan instead of mine or my dads and get covered for the contacts.I think i could since my mom has not and will not go for an eye exam this year. and since shes a different person she still gets covered since shes hasn't used her allowance. IDK am i wright or wrong?

Answer: No you can't use her allowance. You think the Eye exam place wants to get busted for insuance fraud?

Vision Insurance Plans – Eyemed and VSP | Torrington Eyecare

Vision Insurance Plans like eyemed and vsp seem to be changing every day. These changes have resulted in record numbers of patients in our area being sent to low cost vision insurance options such as eyemed and vsp. For patients with eyemed, vsp, or any of the other similar vision benefit providers, it can be hard to keep up with all the changes that come your way.    If you are new to the eyemed plan, you may have noticed that your regular eye doctor (optometrist or ophthalmologist) is no longer on your list of approved providers....
