Which Insurance Company Gives The Best Rates In Alberta, Canada?

Let me know what you have discovered for best company to get insurance from.

I have checked: Aviva...my current provider, Millenium Insurance (the worse one so far), TD - Meloche Monnex and I'm going to Cooperators after work.

Answer: I thought you had government health care in Canada.
 
 

Water And Mould Damage Due To Vandalism?

I have a question about whether or not my insurance company will cover this. I went on vacation four weeks ago returned home to find there was no water in my sinks. (Yes I know I should have shut off the valves before leaving) I went into the basement which is through a separate outside entrance and found that someone had broken in and ripped the place apart. In addition, they had ripped out the copper piping and there was severe water damage which then resulted in mold damage from the baseboards to the ceiling of the basement. I had my adjuster and servce master (through meloche monnex canada) come by and they were just as horrified as me at the severe damage. Now they are telling me that

Answer: If the item is wet - it is damaged by water.

Mold damage is for damage to items that were not wet. Or for air quality testing that is required for mold.

If mold damage is excluded by your policy, then there is no coverage for the mold. However, if water damage and theft are covered then the times that are directly damaged by the water or theft would be covered.

From the little bit you have posted, it sounds like a good bit of the damage would be related to the water/theft. If your insurance company can't cover all the damage, they will be able to at least help out with a large part of the damage.
