What Kind Of Supplemental Health Insurance Should I Get For My Trip To Argentina Next Month?

I am a student with a very basic health insurance plan that doesn't cover me while abroad. I will be spending time in Argentina next month and am looking to purchase some sort of health insurance that will cover any relatively serious health problems (i.e. hospitalization required) incurred during my trip. Any suggestions for me?

Have a very poorly baby in argentina that needs to be flown to the states for treatment. all the treatment for the condition is covered but need insurance for any other problems that may arise.
Does anyone know who will insure him for this??

Can An American Name A Foreigner (from Argentina) As Their Life Insurance Beneficiary?

I'm an American, and I'd like to name my Argentinian boyfriend as my beneficiary in the event of my death. He is resistant though, because he says it's a waste of money, because he would not be able to receive the money, being a foreigner. Does anyone know if this is allowed, and what processes he would have to go through, to receive the money? Thanks.

Answer: His foreign status should not be a problem. The company may have difficulty locating him if you die so the burden will be on him to contact the life insurance company and file a claim if something happens to you.

The life insurance company will want to make sure he has a legitimate insurable interest in your life, in other words he has some kind of financial connection to you.

Just be up front with the agent you are dealing with or the company you apply with.

Can Someone HELP? How To Bring An Ailing Parent To The US From Argentina. As Well As Med Insurance Options.?

She is 84 years old, a current resident of Buenos Aires and lives alone. We would like to bring her to the US but need help with residency status and in providing her with medical care. Any leads or information would be greatly appreciated.

Answer: You would have to show you could support her, including her medical care, in order to bring her in. The idea is that people aren't supposed to immigrate to go on taxpayer funded services. I don't know if there is a health plan that would cover that since an ailing 84 year old would be pretty hard to insure for the very reasons that you need the insurance to begin with. There IS insurance, for the 'uninsurable' through states, but first you have to be a legal resident, and unless you have the funds to support her to begin with, it will be hard to get that legal residency. It all comes back to immigration not being supposed to increase the drain on failing services. Since we have so many elderly
