I'm taking my father on holiday next month and I am looking to buy travel insurance.
He had a heart attack about 10 years ago and takes a combination of tablets everyday
I looked at the travelex website that people have recommended as it waivers existing conditions, however it states
"Purchase plan within 21 days of initial trip deposit"
I'm interpreting the initail trip deposit is when I paid the airline? That was months ago and doesn't fall within the 21 day period.
Can anyone suggest another company that is competitive as the travelex quote was £30 ($50) for 11 days. We only need the medical

Travel Insurance With Medical Condition?
Question by peter99uk2002 | Posted in Heart Diseases
Answer: A good travel insurance is not cheap, it could be quite expensive. But, it is very good to have a medical condition. If you travel to some countries where the medical care is very questionable you would need the medical insurance to arrange for an emergency flight back to your home land wherever that may be or to another destination of your choice. I travel a lot and have used medical insurance before, it is a good thing to have if it is affordable
We Are Trying To Obtain Travel Insurance For My Brother A Pre Existing Medical Condition Called Cardio Myopath
Question by vic_bourke | Posted in Heart Diseases
Can anyone advise whether they have obtained travel cover with this pre existing condition and if so, which company. We are in Australia wanting to travel to the USA and Europe.
Hope you can help as we have tried heaps of companies who effectively don't want to know.
Thanks for your time.
Answer: Airlines offer travel insurance and their coverage is not dependent upon pre existing conditions as an airplane disaster has nothing to do with a passenger's health. Health insurance with a pre existing condition is another matter. It is always available but not always affordable. I pray that his cardiomyopathy is well treated and that he enjoy good cardiac funtion - and finally - that he enjoys his travels.
Is Iritis Classed As An Existing Medical Conditon For Travel Insurance?
Question by | Posted in Health & Safety
Hi,
I have had 3 bouts of Iritis in the past and have been diagnosed with a gene that makes me more likely to have another occurance than someone that does not have the gene in their body, at the same time I could go for the rest of my life and never have another occurenece.
I need to get travel insurance for a long trip away and was therefore wondering if Iritis is classed as an existing medical condition that should be declared?
Thanks!
Answer: Yes! If you don't declare it you will never get the insurance company to pay up.
