I sold a nintendo ds with a guitar hero game on ebay, described it perfectly, packaged it well and shipped it out. The buyer is saying the screen does not work now however there is sound. I have a no returns policy and it is clearly stated that their was no insurance on the item, i said in the description to ask questions reguarding the item. Am i entitled to refund him?
Answer: ~This is a tricky one. If you are positive you checked and it was working, then you do not have to refund. If you did not check it to be sure, before you shipped, then I would say you owe him a refund.
Shipping damage is almost certain to happen even with very protective wrapping. The customer should have insisted on insurance or not purchased it. If I were to buy something with no shipping insurance, I would not expect a refund.

I just bought an iPod touch off of eBay (yay) and I was wondering if I should get insurance on it. What are the benefits of getting insurance on it? Insurance is only three dollars, and I know its a valuable item. Thanks
Answer: I don't think it is necessary to buy insurance as I send items overseas and my buyers do not request for insurance.
Register the item so that the item will not be lost through mail transit.

Insurance companies often require you to insure everything in your property, if you do not have adequate cover they may choose to reduce the payment. It is also worth noting that insurance companies usually have a maximum valuation that applies to an individual item. If you are unsure as to what your jewellery is actually worth claiming can be very difficult and cause problems with your insurance company....
