What Is The Statue Of Limitation For Personal Injury In Canada, Vancouver, BC?
Question by buddhaloc | Posted in Law & Ethics
We were rear-ended in an accident in Vancouver, BC. The car was determined totaled and we were reimbursted for the fair value of the car. There were total 4 passengers in the car, two of which have already settled with the Canada insurance company, however the other two sustained more serious injury, therefore still continuing their treatment. At this moment, we do not have an attorney representing us because ICBC appears to be responsible in admitting their client's fault. However, just want to be on the safe side, I was wondering what is the statue of limitation for personal injury in Canada, Vancouver, BC? Please help or provide suggestions, just in case the Canada insurance company all

We as an American citizenry need to advocate and implement a position on heathcare that replaces profit driven private business with something that actually makes providing good care a priority. As long as profit is involved in every aspect of our healthcare system it will never be just, efficient, or effective in providing good care to a majority of the citizenry. The US has the most expensive healthcare system in the world but we fail to provide universal healthcare. The problem is our

Would My Weight Loss Surgery Be Covered By Insurance? (in Canada)?
Question by TwinMom2000 | Posted in Diet & Fitness
I am about 142 lbs overweight. I was never a fat kid, but it seems when I hit 20, my eating habits went to hell. I got married, had kids, and the weight kept piling on. I've had 3 back surgeries (unexplained herniated disks, but the excess weight probably didn't help), I have acid reflux, I have sleep apnea, I have hemorrhoids, I've had depression on and off (only since my 20's), and now I have a knee that's "wearing down". The surgeon told me I need to lose weight. I know he's right and I have always wanted to lose this weight. It affects everything about me. How I feel, whether or not I will attend social functions, etc. I've been on pretty much every weight loss gimmick there is.
Answer: health-quotes.isgreat.org - here is my health insurance plan. As I remember they can provide such a service.
Is Security Video Taken On Outdoor Condo Property Protected Under The Privacy Act In Ontario, Canada?
Question by annn | Posted in Law & Ethics
My Husband's car was hit by a car exiting the parking garage in the private driveway of the condo where we live. He reviewed the tape on the security monitor and it clearly shows that the other driver was at fault. However, the property mamgement will not release the segment of the video to us claiming it violates the privacy act and that only the police can request it. Is this true? This tape would be extremely helpful for insurance purposes and in the event of a lawsuit. Is there any way to get a hold of the footage?
unfortunately the police will not get involved to investigate b/c it happened on private property, not a public road. they will only get involved if someone was injured
Answer: They can not give you the tape they can not give the tape to a private citizen. As the management told you the police can request it in their investigation of the accident. You can more than likely get what you need from them.
Tax Question About A Canadian Working In The US 4 Days/week And Living In Canada?
Question by Robin | Posted in Canada
I'm a Canadian who works for a US company and I travel to the US Monday to Thursday. I have a US Social Security Number and CDN Social Insurance Number. Now, I understand that the US taxes I pay act as a "credit" towards my Canadian taxes.
Recently however, someone told me that for my Canadian taxes, I should only be paying for the number of days I'm actually in Canada. Is this true?
Thanks in advance.
Answer: The "someone" has no idea what they're saying.
