TriCare Military Insurance, What Is A "catastrophic Cap?"?

I don't really get this.

Is this the most TriCare will pay for my health services in one year? Or the most I will have to pay out of pocket for random stuff (like co-pays) throughout the year before TriCare will pay for it?

My catastrophic cap is 3,000. Is that high, or low? Good or bad?

Please be thorough if you can. Me AND my mum are really confused. THANKS!

I'm joining the guard soon and I was just curious as to how good military insurance is? What is your opinion on it?

I've heard that it's 3,000 for year in terms of medical costs. Anything over I have to pay? Additional info: I'm a Tricare Prime dependent.

Answer: I think you mean a "catastrophic cap" for out-of-pocket expenses, not a "limit to coverage." Yes, there is such a cap. See the TRICARE website.

I Was Told One Elective Surgery Is Covered By Military (tricare) Insurance, Is It True?

this would include plastic surguries.

Answer: Not unless it is medically necessary meaning you need a boob reduction because it is causing problems, you have lost large amount of weight and have excess skin. Even then it can be a long wait as military personnel are first in order for surgery unless it is determined otherwise.
