Health Insurance Question!! I Have Ms Am I Elegible For Medicare?
Question by "weee..." | Posted in Insurance
I am 22 years old I'm in college. I have MS. When I get married... If my husband doesn't have insurance... Am I eligible for Medicare? How do I go about this? I'm scared. Im in college.
I actually have a hard time staying in school I've had 2 medical withdraws. I'm def not a full time student I'd relapse the only time I did it I relapsed right after finals.
Answer: Medicare is for the permanently disabled ( on SSDI), for the elderly, and for people in end stage renal failure.
If you're capable of being in college, you're not disabled enough for Medicare.
Maybe you mean Medicaid, state welfare health insurance? It's for the poor. To know if you qualify, you'd have to add up all your income and assets.
Generally, if you can afford to be a full time college student, you're not poor enough for Medicaid.
How about plan C . . . put off the wedding until husband has a job with health insurance, and is able to support you?

What Is A Good Australian Private Health Insurance For A Person With Multiple Sclerosis?
Question by jianfei | Posted in Other - Diseases
A friend of mine was diagnosed with MS (Multiple Sclerosis) and is seeking Health insure in Australia. Is it difficult to find Health insurance for a person suffering from this disease, and are there any recommendations
Answer: My daughter also has MS. She has joined a health fund since diagnosis.
She will not be covered for anything related to MS for 12 months after
joining. Any of the health funds will cover her, She does not have to disclose the medical condition when joining. MBF,NIB,Medibank Private etc all are very similar in what they offer. The pre exisiting rule comes in when she makes a claim. The fund will decide whether they believe the condition was pre existing. Even if you were not aware of a condition when joining they can still deny you cover should they deem that the onset was over a progression of time.
I was wondering if its possible to put my GF on my health insurance. It says in order for me to put her on my insurance, she needs to be a dependent on me. Well for these past taxes her brother put her as her dependent and well now I'm paying for everything for her, not her brother. Example: Food, Necessities, Gas, Transportation. Will she be considered by dependent or is there another way I can put her on my insurance because she needs the insurance, because she has MS and needs to see specialists.
Answer: Do you live together? Some states (and some medical plans) have a domestic partner clause which would allow her to be covered under your health insurance if she meets certain criteria.
Do you have coverage through your employer? If so, contact your HR department and ask them if a domestic partner can be covered by your health plan. They'll be able to answer your questions and even get the enrollment process going, if she's eligible.
I Think I Have MS, But Have No Health Insurance...help?
Question by jess | Posted in Other - Diseases
Over the past couple years off and on "strange" things have been happening to me..I won't go in to detail as the list goes on and on..It has been really bad lately though..The symptoms come for a little while and disappear..I don't want to go to the emergency room, I want to go to a neurologist but I have no medical coverage..Any ideas? Also would I need a referral to even see a neurologist?
Let me rephrase..The symptoms go into "remission"..
Answer: I've never heard of MS that comes and goes away. The problem with MS is that it never goes away; there is no cure.
You can make an appointment with a neurologist on your own. You don't need to be referred.
