Travel Insurance -- Messa/Blue Cross Blue Shield, Am I Covered?

Hi there!

My mom is a teacher who has Messa/Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance. I'm planning a trip to Asia this summer, and was curious to see whether or not there was any international travel coverage with her plan. I'm planning on calling the insurance company sometime within the next week, but I just wanted to see if anyone had any experience with this?

Answer: You definitely have to call the company directly. Even if you spoke to someone who has the same company, that doesn't mean they have exactly your situation or coverage. You really should look into travel insurance also. Most travel insurance includes really well rounded package that can cover all your concerns while traveling. Good luck and have fun!
 
 

How Can I Cancel My Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance?

I just got it and i didn't know they would be taking $200 of my paycheck to me that's just too much and i found another insurance that's $30 dollars a month so i tried calling them but they didn't answer how can i close my Health Insurance plan??

Answer: If it's through your employer, it's not actually YOUR policy, and you cannot cancel it.

The IRS won't let your employer take you off the policy, until open enrollment comes around. That's a LAW.

You're stuck, until open enrollment.

But . . . $30 a month . . you clearly didn't read the coverages. Because you don't get INSURANCE for $30 a month. You get a "discount" plan, with no guarantees, that never PAYS anything.

Blue Shield Or HealthNet Health Insurance-which One Is Better?

I found two almost identical health insurance plans so I'm choosing between Blue Shield PPO and Healthnet PPO plan.
Could someone tell me which one is better and why?

Answer: I had Blue Cross Blue Shield and they used to be a good company. Now, they deny every claim I make claiming pre existing condition. I don't know much about Healthnet. I personally thing Blue Cross is a joke. They charged me through my job 8543.00 for 3 months of insurance and then canceled my insurance after 13 days and did NOT reimburse my money to me. The money was already paid in for insurance....there was a 90 day waiting period and I worked on that federal job 103 days .....which meant I was covered for 13 days of insurance for eight thousand five hundred fourty three dollars and thirty one cents.

Am I Covered By My Husbands Insurance For Pregnancy?

I am 27 weeks pregnancy and am on my husbands blue cross blue shield insurance plan. I don't have short term disability at my job. If he does will it cover me? and how does that work?

Do You Have Double Health Insurance Coverage?

My wife is starting a new job and she is already on my insurance. We are thinking of having her on two insurance plans (Blue Shield HMO and Blue Cross PPO). We want to do this because we get so many medical bills, despite already having insurance. Will the secondary coverage cover a lot of those? How does that work?

Answer: we have 2 insurances - (bsbs) - it does help out to have both - whatever one doesnt pay - it gets sent to the next - for us - I know our insurance has gone up - they are now charging us for "working spouse" $100 a month - so, even if your husband would have the family plan - because you work and are able to get insurance from your employer - they might still charge your husband extra because you do work.
for us - we don't see many bills. but, it depends on how much your wife would be paying for her insurance. I personally would call bcbs and ask these questions - after one insurance pays - how much does the next pay etc - so, you can be sure if it would be worth

NC approves rate increase for some Blue Cross health insurance ...

State insurance regulators approved rate increases today for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina’s policies on individuals that was lower than what the health insurer originally requested. Insurance Commissioner Wayne Goodwin and BCBSNC chief executive officer Brad Wilson also announced today the insurer would be issuing nearly $156 million in one-time refunds to more than 215,000 customers because of the health care reform law Rates for the insurer’s Blue Option HSA , which includes higher deductibles, lower monthly premiums and a health savings account, will increase 2.
