Question by Ralph | Posted in Insurance & Registration
Norwich Union offer free 7 days insurance when you buy a your car, so you can leave the show room or what ever. But whats the catch? And why would they offer it for free, they always say statistically new drivers are likely to crash and all... So whats the idea of the free 7 day insurance and whats the catch?
Sorry, but im having a blonde moment, can someone explain it more please?
Answer: it is basically so that the dealership can register the car securley so they sign up to this insurance company. This give you time to sort your own insurance out within the seven days. I personally just collected a car and arranged for my inusurance to start from the day I collected it but you do have 7 days. Its so that they don't want to rely on your insurance delaying. They then give you a free quote for the whole year. It isn't a con don't believe this lot here!
Where Can I Find Cheap One Day Event Insurance As A Vendor For A Craft Fair?
Question by CricketB | Posted in Insurance
I'm a vendor at an upcoming craft fair and I'm required to carry $500,000 liability insurance for the venue. Since I only do one show per year at this venue (nobody else requires insurance) is there a way I can purchase CHEAP one-two day insurance for just this event? My current annual policy is $500. I barely net that much in sales at this show, thus my dilemma.
Thanks!
Answer: Special event coverage is going to run around $500. That just barely covers the actual administration costs to issue the policy.
Just like, you can't sell your craft item for less than it costs to make, they can't sell their policies for less than it costs to physically produce and mail. Sorry. You HAVE cheap insurance already. It doesn't get cheaper than that.
Is There Any Way To Get Around The 90 Day Insurance Waiting Period?
Question by beth d | Posted in Insurance
I'm getting married in a couple of months and will be switching to my husband's insurance. His insurance will not cover me for the first 90 days after I switch. We do not believe in practicing birth control, so we fear we may get pregnant in that 90 day period, and that my pregnancy may not be covered after that. Is there any way that I make it so that this is not a problem?
Answer: This is kind of silly, you should read your question again... Whats worse? Using some kind of protection for that 90 days or getting pregnant and paying a HUGE bill because it won't be covered by insurance. My advice to you is go to planned parenthood and ask for them to write you a perscription for some sort of birth control to take during the 90 day waiting period. If you don't want to do that, you are taking that risk and you will feel irresponsible for not taking precautions to wait just 3 months till you know you have insurance and are safe.

Question by borrellicufflinks | Posted in Insurance
How much do u think insurance would be to operate a 20-day parking lot selling xmas trees. Where would I get this insurance and can a 20-day insurance policy be underwritten...Also, Is a xmas tree lot profitable in a flea market parking lot....
Answer: From a local, independent agent. You should be able to do this through a surplus lines carrier, like Scottsdale. It should probably run you around $700 - minimum premium, fully earned.
Can I Drive Across Canada-US Border On A ONE DAY Insurance Permit?
Question by bigl | Posted in Other - Canada
I live in Vancouver BC and my car isn't currently insured but I will be needing it insured for one day to see a concert in Seattle, are you allowed to leave canada on a one day ICBC permit or do you need normal insurance?
Answer: As a general rule they do not ask for insurance when crossing the border, you only require the appropriate ID (Passport, Enhanced DL or Enhanced BCID). However you may be required to prove insurance and, as long as the insurance is valid for the length of your trip you should have no problems. You may want to look into a slightly extended permit if you can afford it in case you run into problems in the US.

Why is the same insurance company ringing me upwards of 6 times a day even though we are registered with TPS? Infuriating me, I can't work!
