Last Sunday my car got hit by another car that is parking out of the parking lot. My front door on the passenger side was damaged. The other driver admitted that the accident was his fault. He agreed verbally and wrote on a piece of paper that he will pay for my damages. In exchange he asked me not to call the police because he claimed that he does not an automobile insurance and his sticker is about to be expired.
It has been 6 days since the accident. I still havn't heard any word from him. What should I do now?
I have AAA Automobiles Club of Southern Insurance.
Answer: File a claim with your insurance and give them the guys info.
If your policy allows for a waiver of the deductible because the guy is uninsured great, if not you'll have to pay your deductible and AAA will pay the rest. Once your repairs are completed they will pursue the guy on your behalf. If you do pay your deductible and they get they money back from the guy AAA will send you a check for your deductible.

I had my Camaro stolen twelve years ago, and it really hurt me psychologically.
My friend just had his SUV stolen a few weeks ago.
We live in the Metro Atlanta area.
What can one do to help prevent auto theft?
There are some rather obvious choices, but which one is best? There are car alarms, Club steering wheel locks, etc...what do you recommend?
Also, what sort of insurance should one have in case this catastrophe occurs?

Lo-jack has a good recovery rate on stolen cars.
Mine has the factory pass key system with an aftermarket alarm that will buzz the key fob when the alarm goes off. It has a range of about 1000 ft. So when the alarm goes off I know it day or night and I can take appropriate action. I had one stolen a long time ago and haven't had one since.

If the U.S. is truly a nation of the people, by the people and for the people, shouldn't government obey the laws they expect everyone else to obey?
Laws like counterfeiting. The people at the federal reserve are allowed to print money with nothing backing it all day long, but nobody else is allowed to.

Do you think all this talk about all this talk about having to carry proper documentation on ones person being a hardship, or that it is like Nazi Germany – is simply a lot of hog wash ?•What if I were to be pulled over by the police for speeding – they will ask to see my drivers license and proof of insurance. Isn’t that asking for proper documentation – i.e. to prove that I have taken the necessary tests and have been approved to drive a car – AND – that I am obeying the law by carrying the necessary automobile insurance in case of an accident!

Answer: You make an excellent point. We're not asking anybody to do anything that every other American isn't ALREADY doing. This is simply a very weak argument in an attempt to circumvent our immigration laws. Come on! You have to show ID to do anything from cashing a check, to driving a car, even to buy a can of spray paint at the hardware store.
