Can You Trust Online Insurance Quotes For Motorcycles?

now im planning on getting my first motorcycle and it is going to be a 600cc sportbike which is outrageous for a 19 year old. I have used online quotes, but when i talk to the people i know that have bikes they say that's a crazy price for coverage. And provide me with a price they suspect it will be and a few of them are about my age and have 600cc sportbikes that say their insurance isn't that much.

I have only had one offense since i got my actual license and that was a my fault accident a little over a year ago. No speeding tickets or any other tickets. Just that one. I have my endorsement and took a MSF safety course to help.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Answer: It has been my experiance that a local agent is the best way to go for motorcycle insurance. they can get you discounts and are there when you need person to person answers.

I'm In The Middle Of Getting A Motorcycle Insurance Quote From Progressive Online, And It's Asking For SSN?

It's asking for my Social Security number to give me a better quote, is this normal? I hate putting my SSN in on websites.

Answer: Yes , it's normal...........seems that high credit risks are associated with bad driving..........for the life of me, I don't understand their logic .....don't worry, it's done all the time.......

Does Progressive Insurance Usually Stay True To Their Online Quotes?

i got quoted 107 a month for motorcycle insurance on a 1998 Kawasaki zx6r, no comperhensive, just collision, the bike has 25k miles. Shouldnt insurance be cheaper than that because i dont want to buy the bike and find out the insurace is more than i can afford!

Answer: The quote can change based on your specific information.

Usually when you do an online quote- it does not have information on your credit rating or driving record. Both of these can increase the cost of the policy. If your credit rating is good and you do not have accidents/tickets/moving violations - then the actual price should be pretty close to the quote. However, if your credit rating is bad or you have accidents/tickets/moving violations then the rate can be higher than the quote you got.

All the quote is - is an estimate based on the limited information you provided.

What Is A Typical Insurance Payment On A Kawasaki Motorbike?

The bike I'm looking at is a 2008 Kawasaki Ninja 250R bike and was wondering what the insurance would be on it. Online insurance quotes don't have the motorcycle listed. Thats why I'm asking.

Answer: A lot would depend on what your driving record, your age and your home location.
I'm assuming the starting price of the insurance will not be cheap based on the motorcycle type.
Call around to local insurance agency offices and ask. I'm sure they would love the chance to quote on your insurance business.

Motorcycle Insurance?

Ive been trying to find online quotes but am unable to (don't know why, but they cant give me a quote online).
Anyways I was just wondering what insurance company would you recommend for motorcycle insurance? I want to buy a bike, I don't have my M1 (because I don't want to take the test before getting the bike), and obviously I've never taken the motorcycle course.

Yea I know it would be hard to get a quote given that I have zero riding experience or licensing but cmon do you really expect me to get my license only to have it expire in 90 days without even having a bike yet?

Anyways when you started out what kind of insurance were you paying and with who?

Answer: Getting the bike before the course is the wrong way to proceed. Here is the correct order:
-Sign up for the course;
-Obtain your M1;
-Take the course. Once you have (a) passed the course and (b) decided that motorcycling IS something you want to pursue:
-Use what you learned on the course to decide what bike is right for you. Note: It won't be a 4-cylinder sport-bike. Too much power; WAY too much insurance;
-Call insurance companies to get quotations on the models you are considering;
-THEN look for a good used example on the market, knowing what your two major costs will be: the bike and insurance.

Having Fun and Getting Online Motorcycle insurance | ncbea.net

I had just gotten  online motorcycle insurance and stopped by my boyfriend’s place to show him it. He was a motorcycle buff and he really liked the bike I had gotten. We planned to get together later and ride over to a peaceful spot where we could hang out together. He taught me a lot about motorcycles.
